OUR STORY

We started in September 2022, motivated by the frightening situation experienced by youth who have dropped out school due to lack of fees, and women at risk such as widows, single parents and survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence. As the support delivered by UNHCR and its partners had considerably been paralyzed by the lack of funding and donation like it used to be before, we could not wait to see those people constrained to indecent life style such as prostitution, drug abuse and smuggling, begging and gambling to the extent of find themselves victims of human trafficking and other forms of exploitation. We, eight people, inspired by the idea brought on board by Mr. HABIMANA Hakizumwami came up with a clear and reasonable option for solutions. At the beginning, we were Mr. Benjamin URIMUBENGI, Pr. Jules SAFARI MWENDAPOLE, Mr. William BAKUNZI, Mr. Pascal IYAMUREMYE SEKIBIBI, Mr. Ramadhani SENDEGEYA, MR. Seraphin TUMAINI, Mr. Norbert BARAKA, Ms. Vestina UWIDUHAYE and Miss Consolate BIZIMANA.

At the beginning, it was not easy. We were still struggling with very limited financial resources, as the people were still tasting the bitterness of covid-19 consequences including the worldwide economic crisis.  We have faced disappointing moments and people have been undermining our initiative but we never gave up.

We carried out several campaigns for awareness and finally people came to join our efforts. From nothing we have now reached to something that a lot of people, especially youth and women consider as proper solution to their problems.
