Our livelihood activities are combined in the project called: VSE-Nyanyuka or VSE-Get Up (Vocational Skills Enhancement).
Trough this project, we equip youth and women with vocational skills and other innovative information in order to increase their income generating capacity and enable them to create more employment opportunities for themselves and for their communities
We have started vocational skills training with:
tailoring
Hairdressing
Computer skills and IT
Various handcraft
And more vocational skills are soon brought on board basing on the assessed needs of our beneficiaries.
Our beneficiaries are trained on how to use various tailoring machines in such a way that they become at the completion of the training capable of sawing clothes in various fashions and designs.
One tailoring machine for 10 learners!!
Enrolment is too high in tailoring compared to the limited number of available materials, what slows the learning process.
More efforts and contributions are needed to tackle the challenge. Why not yours?
Our learners are prepared on how to make various fashions of hairdressing.
At the completion of the training they are capable of generating income from beauty salon services or even starting their own hair salon business in case they get a start-up.
The enr0lment is higher than expected to such an extent that the learning program is paralyzed by lack of adequate material over the issue of limited resources. Do you feel concerned?
Our learners are trained on computer basics and equipped with skills that allow them accessing information through social medias, This prepare them to become able of expanding their network at the moment they start experiencing their professional life.
Ten learners per computer!!
Our computer laboratory is still facing some gaps in terms of equipment considering required standards for a computer lab, and our limited financial resources do not allow us satisfying the needs in sustainable electricity. This sometimes paralyzes and slows the learning process’
More resources are needed to address the challenges. Can we count on you?
